The Jožef Stefan Institute is the leading Slovenian scientific research institute, covering a broad spectrum of basic and applied research. The staff of more than 930 specializes in natural sciences, life sciences and engineering.

Department of Knowledge Technologies aims at advancing cutting-edge research and applications of knowledge technologies, including data, text and web mining, machine learning, decision support, language technologies, and other information technologies that support the acquisition, management, modelling and use of knowledge and data.
